Worland

Sitting on the east side of the Bighorn River, close to the Bighorn National Forest, Worland, Wyoming has more to do than first meets the eye.

Bring your mountain bikes and hiking boots to explore the Bighorn Mountains to the east, the world’s largest mineral hot spring to the south, wild horses to the west and petroglyphs to the north. Off-road enthusiasts will especially enjoy the area, which features 160 miles of off-highway trails and roads accessible year-round. Don’t miss the Painted Desert, known locally as Wyoming’s Badlands. This unique and colorful landscape, complete with other-worldly rock formations, features an overlook and an interpretive trail. While in the area, be sure to stop at the Washakie Cultural Center and Museum to see exhibits on early mammoth hunters, paleontology and early settlers.
